Art & Dining Experience

Part 1 (September 4): Kick things off with a free art exhibition at MMclay on September 4th, featuring a new line of work by Felicia Forte, an acclaimed painter known for her bold use of color and abstraction. Wine and small bites provided (This optional portion of the experience is a great introduction to the work of Felicia Forte and an opportunity to meet the artist before you get to work along side her.)

Part 2 (September 7th): Take part in a hands-on ceramics workshop where MaryMar Keenan will guide you in crafting your own ceramic “canvas” which you’ll use in the following workshop to paint on with guidance from Felicia Forte (If you're unable to attend Part 2, we will make your ceramic canvas for you).

Part 3 (September 14th): Once your ceramic piece is fired and ready, return for a painting workshop with Felicia Forte. Explore color, design, levels of abstraction, and techniques for breaking down realism into its essential elements. Use templates based on Felicia’s work or bring your own image as inspiration. You'll be painting onto your ceramic "canvas" to create a piece of art.

Close out the event with an exclusive food and colorful plating demonstration on MMclay wares by Chef Gavin Schmidt of the James Beard Nominated The Morris. Enjoy 4 seasonal dishes and wine pairings, inspired by the colorful ceramic glazes.

 Painting with Felicia Forte

To uncover our voices we must create an environment of curiosity. Self awareness coupled with practical experimentation empower our creative practices. In my workshops I will offer a scene to work from as our subject. A live model, objects, theme, atmosphere. Each artist will be invited to find what interests them in this scene. Whether you need to hone your technique, break through your limiting beliefs, or experiment with new ideas - we will work together to clear your creative path forward.

I welcome artists of all levels of experience to join this workshop. I have a supply list if you need guidance, but you may bring what you usually paint with instead.

Nothing currently scheduled.
